Are you curious about wireless earbuds that also kill germs? Check out LG’s new Tone Free FN7 buds. The charging case emits UV light that kills germs. However, LG is putting the earbuds a cut above. The new models also have active noise cancellation (ANC).

The Verge reports that LG’s FN7 buds also have silicone ear tips and a “twist-fit Vortex Ribs design.” This design helps the buds block out outside noise without turning on noise cancellation.

Moreover, the FN7 buds use three microphones that detect sounds from all detections. These mics also erase all background noise. If you turn on ANC, the buds block out all noises. You’ll hear every note and voice. You don’t even lose out on details if you turn up the volume. 

Battery Life and Other Specs

If you listen with ANC, you’ll enjoy five hours of battery life. Otherwise, you’ll get seven hours of use. With the case, battery life increases to 15 hours with ANC and 21 hours without ANC.

The FN7 buds also offer EQ and richer, fuller bass. Inside the box, you’ll also find the buds’ UVnano charging case. According to LG, the case can kill 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria on the buds’ inner mesh. The case also has an LED that lights up to tell you how much juice your buds have left. 

Rival Earbuds

However, LG is not alone in the earbuds market. Bose, Jabra, and Apple each have buds with active noise cancellation. Let’s see if the germ-killing LG buds can rise above its rivals.

More on the UE Fits Earbuds

While they don’t have active noise cancellation, the UE Fits’ fitting system allows them to block out ambient noise. You’ll also get eight hours of listening time on a single charge. With the charging case, you’ll enjoy up to 20 hours. As far as wireless range goes, you can get a Bluetooth signal up to 50 feet.

If you like to use earbuds while working out, you’ll enjoy the UE Fits. They are sweat-proof and water-resistant. Like other wireless earbuds, you can also control your music and answer calls from the buds themselves. However, you’ll need the companion app if you want to customize your buds for voice assistant support or track skipping.

How Much Are the UE Fits?

You can grab the UE Fits for $249, roughly the same price as Apple’s AirPods Pro. However, perfectly fitting earbuds should be worth the money.
