The coming launch dates of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S poses a hard question to gamers: which do you buy?
Launch seasons for next-gen consoles are always hard. Which console do I buy? Most new consoles have similar specs, and they can play most games. So, how do you decide which machine to grab?
First things first, you have to consider your budget. Both Sony and Microsoft offer cheaper consoles. Which console do you already own: the PS4 or Xbox One? If so, you might want to get their latest versions to cut the hassle of migrating accounts.

If you decide to buy the PS5, you’ll support the current king of gaming. Sony has already sold more than 110 million PS4s worldwide. The company also boasts of several critically acclaimed exclusive games, like The Last of Us Part II and God of War.
The PlayStation 5 can play games at true 4K resolution. With an 825GB SSD, the PS5 can also load games faster than the PS4 Pro. Regarding audio, the PS5 also supports 3D audio and spatial sound tech.
Moreover, you’ll also get the Dualsense controller. This new controller uses adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and a microphone. If you get the base model, you can play 4K Blu-rays, too.
Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X can also run games at true 4K resolution and 120fps. Your games also get realistic lighting due to Direct X raytracing. With its 1TB SSD, the Xbox Series X can also store and load most next-gen games.
You might also want to try Microsoft’s Game Pass. If your Xbox library dates back to the original Xbox, you should get the new console. The Xbox Series X will play nearly all of your older Xbox games.

Insomniac Games announced that it will release a patch to allow gamers to export their PS4 saves of Spider-Man Remastered to the PS5.
If you’re worried that you can’t export your PS4 saves to your PS5 version of Spider-Man Remastered, Insomniac Games has your back. The games company said that it would release a patch for this concern. This patch would let you export your PS4 save files to the PS5.
In a tweet, Insomniac Games said that it had heard gamers’ concerns. According to Insomniac, gamers can export Spider-Man Remastered save files from the PS4 to the PS5. Moreover, the patch will add three new suits to the PS4 version of Spider-Man Remastered.

Look forward to the patch to drop around Thanksgiving. For gamers outside the United States, you can expect the patch by November 26.
Spider-Man Remastered will launch together with the PS5 on November 12. Initially, Insomniac Games would not let gamers export save files from their PS4 games. However, the company has heard gamers’ requests and decided to grant them.
Kotaku reports that Sony has a problem with exporting save files from one console to another. On the other hand, Microsoft doesn’t have this problem. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One use the Smart Delivery feature to export saves. With Smart Delivery, you can save files from your Xbox One to your next-gen Xbox without breaking a sweat.
For Sony, though, only Spider-Man Remastered seems to embrace the idea of exporting saves.

Sony has announced more perks for gamers who want to upgrade to the PS5. In a showcase, the company said PS5 users can now access the PlayStation Plus Collection. With the Collection, you can now enjoy a slew of PS4 games on your next-gen console.
In a blog post, Sony gives more information about the Plus Collection. If you have PlayStation Plus and get a PS5, you can choose from a vast library of popular PS4 games. These games include Sony exclusives and various third-party games.
Sony adds that the Plus Collection is an “added benefit” to your existing PlayStation Plus subscription. You don’t have to pay anything for the Plus Collection. If you redeem a game from the Collection, you can play it as long as you remain a Plus member.

The good news is that the hit PS4 game Spider-Man is coming to the PS5. The better news is that you can get it on the PS5’s launch day as a bundle with Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
However, the bad news is that you can’t play your PS4 saved games on the PS5 version. Since Sony also hasn’t said anything about playing PS4 games on the PS5, it’s still unclear if you can carry over PS4 saves to the PS5.
In a tweet, Insomniac Games said that gamers couldn’t carry over their PS4 saves to their PS5 version of Spider-Man. So, you’ll have to stick with the PS4 for the original game. You can always play Miles Morales on your new PS5.

The Verge reports that Sony had found 99% of PS4 games work on the PS5, though the company did not identify these games. If you get a PS Plus subscription, you can also play 18 classic PS4 games on your PS5. However, Sony didn’t say whether you’ll play the games’ disc or digital versions.
Some PS4 and PSVR games will get “faster and smoother frame rates” on the PS5.
Moreover, Insomniac Games said you could only get the remastered Spider-Man with the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition digital bundle. You won’t find a physical copy of the remastered game anywhere. Instead, you might consider investing in the cheaper digital-only PS5 version.

Fans clamoring for a VR version of Minecraft are rejoicing today. Mojang Studios have confirmed that a free upgrade will make Minecraft playable on Playstation VR. The update will come later in September.
In a blog post, Mojang Studios announced that Minecraft is coming to PSVR. The developers also said that they removed nothing from the game and that players can still enjoy the same game they loved.
The Verge reports that players can get the PSVR support upgrade as a free patch this month. If you own Minecraft for PS4, you’ll download the patch automatically. Now might be the time to invest in a PSVR setup.
For PSVR support, Mojang simply added tweaks to the experience. Gamers can try out the new modes: Immersive and Living Room. However, they didn’t say what those modes are or what they look like.
The developers did say that you can still use your Dualshock 4 controllers to move around, craft items, and fight. You’ll just look around the Minecraft world through your PSVR headset.
Minecraft had already come out on VR before. In 2016, the game had come out on the Oculus Rift. Mojang Studios said that PSVR support for Minecraft came from the VR tech they used for other platforms. For Playstation, SkyBox Labs simply optimized the tech for the console.
Early this year, Minecraft sales had already topped 200 million across multiple platforms. The pandemic has also driven a surge in sales, as more players worldwide stay at home.

Gamers slashing away at From Software’s ninja action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice can expect more content later this year. The game’s publisher, Activision, confirmed the game is getting a free update on October 29 on all platforms. The game also goes to Google Stadia on the same day.
In a blog post, Activision announced the addition of Boss Rush mode in the game’s new update. Sekiro’s boss rush mode comes in two forms. First, gamers can play the Reflections of Strength Mode, which will allow them to fight any boss they’ve already beaten. Next, daring players can experience the Gauntlets of Strength Mode. In this mode, players only have a single life to fight off wave after wave of enemies.

Kotaku also adds that the update includes new costumes for the player character. Among the new outfits are the “Tengu” and “Old Ashina Shinobi.” To get two outfits, players must survive two Gauntlets. For the third, they just have to beat the game once.
Similar to other From Software games like Dark Souls, Sekiro players can now record their actions for other players to see. In Sekiro, this mode is called “Remnants.” Through this mode, players can record up to 30 seconds of action. These actions can include showing off cool techniques or guiding other players to hidden treasures. Activision also says that if you watch and rate a “Remnant,” you’ll recover HP for free.
Sekiro is the newest game from From Software, the Japanese developer of RPGs Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Same as its cousins, Sekiro is also notoriously challenging. The free update will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia.
