With the new 4680 cell for Tesla to be used in its Berlin factory, chief exec Elon Musk said that with new technology, it could pose significant production risks.
EV maker company Tesla will debut a new battery technology in Berlin. The firm’s chief executive officer, Elon Musk, revealed that the company will first use the batteries at the assembly plant near the German capital, Fox Business reports. With the new technology, the company can encounter “production risks.”
Tesla’s massive factory in Berlin will house the production of the new Model Y vehicles, which will also include the latest battery technology. The factory remains under construction. Tesla intends to begin producing the Model Y in the construction plant by the second half of next year. It wants the plant to show a radical change in how Tesla manufactures its vehicles.
In the third quarter, Tesla said it delivered 139,300 units, Reuters reports.
However, Musk said that the company could encounter a “significant production risk.”
Particularly, the CEO said the Berlin plant will house the production of new Teslas, which will incorporate “a lot of new technology” that could pose risks.
Berlin will use 4680 cell with structural battery pack & front & rear single piece castings. Also, a new paint system.

Eventually, Tesla will have to transfer the new production methods in its factories in China and California once they have proven the latest technology, the New York Post reports. But in order to do that, it will take the company about two years.
The next-generation battery technology that Tesla will introduce can store more energy and with easier production. Tesla said that the large cylindrical 4680 battery cell will help the company to downsize its expenses in battery costs. At the same time, it also plans to boost production of batteries by 100 times in the next decade.
Tesla unveiled the new battery technology during its Battery Day last month.
In a tweet, Musk wrote: “Berlin will use 4680 cell with structural battery pack and front & rear single piece castings. Also, a new paint system.”

Elon Musk’s Tesla continues its drive to expand in the United States. The electric carmaker announced last Wednesday that it would open another factory in Texas. Likewise, this factory will be the largest Tesla factory in the world.
Wired reports that the new factory is called “GigaTexas.” The same report said that this new factory would use up 2,000 acres on a site near Austin. For future workers, they can drive 15 minutes from downtown Austin to the plant. From the airport, they can drive 5 minutes.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk declared to investors that the new plant would be friendly to the environment. He said there would be “birds in the trees, butterflies, fish in the stream.”

Tesla plans to build new car models in “GigaTexas.” From the plant will come the Cybertruck and Semi, which will debut in 2021. Tesla will also produce more Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs for the Eastern US market. With the opening of a new plant, more jobs will also be available. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that this new plant would employ 5,000 workers. These jobs would also pay $15 an hour. Abbott added that Tesla would invest $1 billion in the latest factory.
“GigaTexas” adds to the many Tesla factories in the world. It joins factories in Fremont, California, and Shanghai. Tesla also plans to open another plant in Berlin next year.
Now, Wired reports that Tesla is more valuable than both Toyota and Volkswagen combined, with a value of $300 billion. Tesla also made $140 million in quarterly profits for 2020.

Bitcoin owners were in for a ride Wednesday when verified Twitter accounts suddenly asked them for bitcoin donations. If you haven’t seen blue check accounts in your feed, this could be why.
CNN reports that Twitter security was compromised Wednesday. Prominent accounts suddenly tweeted for bitcoin. Users included Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Kanye West, Jeff Bezos, and President Barack Obama. Hacker on Bill Gates’ account even promised to “double all payments to a Bitcoin address.”

Twitter responded to the hack by limiting user access. If you have a verified account, chances are you can’t tweet or reply to tweets. If you don’t have a blue check, then no problem. A little over two hours after the hack passed before Twitter restored its functions.

You can’t just laugh off celebrity Twitter hacking. Many world leaders, like President Trump, use Twitter. In Trump’s case, he announces significant policies there. A lot of worldwide agencies also use Twitter. Hackers getting into these accounts could sow chaos around the world. Just one misleading tweet, and you got another country firing nukes at you. Twitter could beef up its cybersecurity.
CNN reports that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is on the case. This new celebrity hacking case should remind us not to give away money on the internet. Just because a celebrity asks us to, it doesn’t mean we should.
