Call of Duty League fans got to experience the CDL and Paper Crowns collaborations last year with the Bracket Builder and $100K Bracket Challenge for the end of year Championships. Fans seemed to like this, and this year it returns, but with even more prizes throughout the year.

The CDL Pick’em is a game where fans can predict the result of each Call of Duty League match, earning points for predicting the winner and the score. Points will be tracked on the global leaderboard, with prizes up for grabs for the best. The CDL Pick’em works by giving you two points for predicting the winner, and an extra point for predicting the correct score.

The prizes for the CDL Pick’em are only available in certain regions, however, at the end of each stage, the top three players will receive the following.

  • Grand Prize: ASTRO A40 TR Headset, Scuf Impact Controller & Scuf Impact Pro Player Pack.
  • First Prize: ASTRO A40 TR Headset & Scuf Impact Controller.
  • Second Prize (3rd – 10th) ASTRO A40 TR Headset.

The London Royal Ravens are the latest teams to announce a substitute for the 2021 Call of Duty League season. European prodigy, Marcus “Afro” Reid joins his home team for the season London Royal , being yet another amateur to find his way onto a CDL roster.

Afro is a 19 year old brit who began his competitive Call of Duty career in the 2019, Black Ops 4 season. Following this, he began to make a name for himself in the 2020 Modern Warfare season, first teaming on Team 3G. After teaming on multiple rosters with players such as BBConor, Disarray, and LewTee, Afro found home with Team WaR.

On Team WaR, Afro won seven Challengers Cups, including in Challengers Finals. This year in the Black Ops Cold War season, Afro has competed under House Tarth. The roster of Afro, Peatie, Defrag and Gismo have excelled, winning two of the four Challengers Cups so far.

Afro joins a London Royal Ravens roster who are looking to improve on a 4th place finish at the 2020 champs. With Zer0 seemingly stuck in the UK, they have just a month to get him out ready for the season.

Warzone tournaments have been sparse since the start of the new year. This is mainly because of the current meta and plethora of recent glitches. However, with most of them being patched and the meta slightly shifting, Warzone tournaments should be back in full force. Today we start with the London Royal Ravens $25K tournament, Ravenstorm. Here’s everything you need to know

Format

The Ravenstorm tournament will see 10 Trios go head to head in Warzone. With 10 Trios involved in the tournament, they will likely be playing for Eliminations and Placement, similar to yesterday’s Twitch Rivals event.

Teams

Full teams are yet to be revealed for the tournament, however we know a lot of the competitors. Firstly, we know that London Royal Ravens content creators such as Jukeyz and Angelika will be competing, along with co-owner Vikkstar. However, it won’t just be Royal Ravens players and content creators playing, other Warzone streamers such as Tommey and Rated will also be in the tournament.

When it comes to each Trio’s third, this will be a celebrity. Whether it be a sportsman, DJ or fellow streamer, each trio will be playing with a celebrity as their third.

Schedule and How to Watch

The Ravenstorm $25K Warzone Tournament will kick off at 1PM ET and conclude tonight. With the action all happening in one day, it’ll be fast paced. You can watch on the Call of Duty Twitch Channel, or your favorite competitor will also stream their POV.

Many teams are yet to announce their substitute players for the 2021 Call of Duty League season. With the Challengers Cups and recent Scouting Grounds event giving teams a chance to look at the amateur talent on display, some teams have taken to the amateur pool of talent for their substitute players.

The Florida Mutineers have taken this approach, signing Travis “Neptune” McCloud for the 2021 Call of Duty League season. Neptune is an 18-year-old rookie, first competing in professional Call of Duty this season. This isn’t Neptune’s first year of competitive gaming, however, as he first began in Halo during 2017.

He began his career at eRa Eternity, before a long stint at Renegades and Sentinels. As a rookie, he joined Parasite, Decemate and Blazt for the first few Cold War tournaments. Here, he impressed and turned the heads of a lot of the amateur Call of Duty fans.

For the 2021 Season, Neptune will act as a substitute player for the Florida Mutineers. With over 30 tournaments to be played throughout the season, we may get to see Neptune in action.

Challengers Thumb

This weekend we return to amateur Call of Duty action with the third Challengers cup, here’s everything you need to know.

After the Scouting Series just before the Holidays, we’ve been without competitive Call of Duty events for a few weeks now. However, this weekend is the third Challengers Cup, so here’s everything you need to know before the event gets underway.

What is the Challengers Cup?

The Challengers Cup is an amateur Call of Duty League tournament. This is an open tournament where teams play 4v4, CDL rules matches, winning pro points and $2K for placing 1st.

What Teams Should You Look out for?

With the Call of Duty League reducing in size from 5v5 to 4v4 this year, a few ex-pros have moved down to the amateur scene. PLayers such as GodRx, Censor, ACHES and KiSMET have all been competing in the Challengers Cups this year. However, they haven’t been the best, instead, it’s the true amateurs who have put on a show.

In North America, you’ll want to be looking at WestR. PaulEhx has specifically been dominating in the earlier Challengers Cup events, so he’s definitely a player to watch.

When it comes to Europe, House Tarth, Team Singularity and Orgless (Dqvee & co) are the three main teams to watch. These three are almost guaranteed to make it to the final rounds, and will always provide a good match to watch.

Schedule & How to Watch

The Challengers Cup begins at 12 PM ET on Saturday, January 9 for European teams, and at 5 PM ET for NA. While there isn’t an official Call of Duty League broadcast, the community has been providing some of the bigger games on a Sunday. To stay up to date with any stream links, you’ll want to check out CDCUpdate on Twitter.

paris legion 2021 roster

Just before the new year begins, Paris Legion have revealed their 2021 starting roster.

Going into December, Paris Legion was the only Call of Duty League team yet to announce their starting roster for the 2021 season. While the roster was no secret, we were yet to hear any final confirmation from Paris Legion themselves. However, we finally received the confirmation, announcing that Classic, Skrapz, Aqua and Fire would be the 2021 starting roster for Paris Legion.

Nicholas “Classic” DiCostanzo

Classic spent the inaugural Call of Duty League season on the Toronto Ultra. After beginning his Call of Duty career in the 2013 Ghosts season on FaZe Clan, Classic has spent time on multiple big-name organizations. He is a two-time Call of Duty Champion, winning twice in the Infinite Warfare season.

Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall

Skrapz spent the 2020 Call of Duty League season on the London Royal Ravens. The Brit teamed with his twin brother Wuskin and placed fourth at the end of year championships. Skrapz has played on teams such as FaZe, Fnatic and Red Reserve after beginning his career back in 2016.

Ulysses “AquA” Silva

AquA began his Call of Duty career in 2014 on Team Envy. Following this, he joined many notable rosters such as FaZe, Rise Nation and Splyce before joining the Los Angeles Guerrillas for the 2020 Call of Duty League season.

Luis “Fire” Rivera

Fire turned 18 in March 2020 and therefore began his competitive journey in the Modern Warfare season. Here, he played for amateur teams Get Busy and Five Star, before joining the Paris Legion for the 2021 season.

Following this announcement, all teams have announced their roster for the 2021 Call of Duty League Season. With over 20 events to be played, we expect the action to begin around the same time as the inaugural season in January.

To give players some New Year’s joy, Treyarch have revealed a Double XP weekend for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone players.

Since the release of Black Ops Cold War on November 13th, players have seen multiple Double XP weekends. However, with this new season boasting 1000 new levels for players to grind, some more may be required to reach the top. Treyarch have provided, giving players four full days of Double XP from December 31st to January 4th.

Starting at 10AM PT on December 31 players will receive Double XP for four days; on both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. While this doesn’t include Weapon XP, it will make it much easier to reach Level 200 and Prestige 7 for the season. This grants players the Prestige Master tag for the season, and access to legacy Prestige icons from the shop.

With Season One running until mid February, players have more than enough time to reach max Prestige. Especially with this Double XPperiod over the New Year’s holiday.
