When someone tutors someone else something, tutoring takes place. This means that it can be in the form of academic tutoring whereby a certain academic subject is taught. This subject can really be any that is taught at school, ranging from the sciences such as Biology and Chemistry to the humanities such as history. It can also be of any grade so it does not matter if someone is in the second grade of elementary school or their senior year of college, they can be tutored! Academic tutoring is more verbal than anything else requiring people to teach and learn through words either spoken or written on a whiteboard on screen.

Another sort of tutoring is skills tutoring. Any skill can be tutored ranging from a specific language such as English and French to a certain computer skill such as typing and R-Studio. It can also be teaching someone how to play a certain musical instrument like piano or guitar. Bear in mind that not all types of skills can be tutored online. For example, no one can possibly tutor someone driving through a screen; they surely have to be with them in the passenger’s seat! 

Tutoring can be performed in an unpaid fashion as a volunteer experience even though it is normally done for money as a profession. However, for the purposes of this article, we will only be talking about the tutoring that is done for money.
