The NPD Group Names Tammy Peterson Advanced Analytics Director

The NPD Group recently named Tammy Peterson director of advanced analytics, responsible for the design, execution, and delivery of advanced analytics projects for the company’s automotive business unit and corporate research science group.

In her new role, Peterson will oversee advanced analyses of consumer purchase patterns and trends data, and store level point-of-sale information for the automotive aftermarket industry, motor fuels, and convenience retailing industries. She will also work with the company’s corporate research science group in developing advanced analytic approaches for point-of-sale services.

Prior to joining NPD, Peterson was director of consumer insights at Concept Shopping, a marketing services company specializing in consumer purchase data. She has had extensive experience with store-level data and advanced analytics, testing applications, consumer purchase panel data, frequent shopper data, and marketing mix modeling using causal data.

Peterson will be based in NPD’s Chicago office and will report directly to Dawn Zieren, president of the NPD automotive business unit, and will have line responsibility to Steve Romei, the company’s vice president of corporate research science.
