Forrester Research sweeps analyst of the year rankings by IIAR

Forrester Research took top rankings in an international survey of the top ICT industry analysts. The survey was conducted by the IIAR, Institute for Industry Analyst Relations. Forrester Research was voted analyst firm of the year, followed by Gartner and IDC. Forrester was also ranked the most relevant analyst firm of the year, while Gartner was ranked the most important. Forrester principal analyst R. Ray Wang was voted analyst of the year. Free summary report.

Rounding out the top 5 for analyst of the year behind Ray Wang are Ovum's David Mitchell in second place, followed by RedMonk's James Governor, Gartner's Ed Thompson, and RedMonk's Michael Coté.

The IIAR reports that more than 116 respondents participated in the online survey, conducted earlier this year. Survey participants worked in analyst relations, and membership in the IIAR was not a prerequisite for voting.

In describing the results, the IIAR notes that, "integrity, independence and market knowledge are the analyst qualities that are most highly valued by AR professionals."

Visit the IIAR web site for more information about the survey and results. The report, freely available online and as a download, includes results segmented by region and technology focus.
